Play on Eyes

My Unique research process of approaching my materials was looking through the New York Library Public Domain and I looked to see what would catch my eye and I found these very artistic colorful book binding covers. I thought they would make a great background if I put them all together and mesh them by making a gif. This would seem interesting to the eye with all of the colors and different patterns meshing together quickly in different ways. Then I knew I needed to make a border around the GIF because I wanted it to seem as like one picture and it would center the viewer’s eyes to the different colors and bindings of the book. This GIF has a lot to do with eyes, so I decided to put someone’s deep stare in the middle of the GIF. I found the eyes in the same place as I have found the bookbindings. I decided to choose this picture because of the dead stare and I could easily make the picture of the eyes transparent, so you could barley see the eyes staring at you as you stare at the different patterns in the GIF. I wanted to mesh many still images into one and make it a GIF so it has some movements but still can tell that there are still images.
